The St. Paul Pioneer Press highlighted Contact Networks - recently acquired by Thomson West – and its ContactNet application that helps legal professionals better manage their business relationships.

Contact Networks also is mentioned in an online article at CRMBuyer.

You also can learn more about Contact Networks in a video interview we did at LegalTech New York with Rich Rifkin, vice president, Sales.

Farewell New York, New York

“Start spreading the news…”

Yes, LegalTech winds up today – it’s been a hectic, but productive, show.

We hope you enjoyed the daily updates from Thomson booths as well as the perspective of product and business leaders, not to mention the journalists, bloggers and influencers who shape the legal landscape.

LiveNote’s Will Robberts

Will Robberts, general manager of LiveNote, took some time at LegalTech to give us more insights into West Court Reporting Services and the new Remote Video Sharing features:

Playing in the social networking space

Social networking is the buzz of the Internet. Beyond Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn, Thomson West now offers a social-friendly business-to-business service of its own to help legal professionals manage their relationships.

It is Contact Networks, recently acquired by West (Read the news release).

How does it work? We’ll let Rich Rifkin, vice president, Sales, explain in this video interview from LegalTech:

Thomson Litigation Consulting

Thomson Litigation Consulting offers a new level of expertise in litigation consulting. The company also is making its LegalTech New York debut after recently announcing new relationships and capabilities.

We caught up with John Sweeney, president, and Joe Mann, senior vice president, to hear their game plan and outlook for this new e-discovery and litigation management consulting business from Thomson:

Tracking the trends at LegalTech

“This is probably one of the most energetic LegalTechs I’ve been at,” says Bob Ambrogi, a noted attorney and legal blogger from Massachusetts.

Ambrogi tracks trends in legal technology for his blogs (LawSites and MediaLaw) and podcast (Lawyer2Lawyer), so we asked him what issues are top of mind this year at LegalTech:

Business Intelligence gets a boost

Thomson Elite has launched its flagship business intelligence offering, Elite Reporting and Analytics Foundation. (Read the news release).

This powerful business intelligence application is geared to the unique needs of law firms. Bruce Wilson, vice president of business intelligence at Elite, talked with us at LegalTech and explained what the launch means to customers:

West km 4.0

As the leading application for legal professionals, West Km now has more to offer through West km 4.0 – including a new technology platform and enhanced search and classification functionality. (Read news release).

At LegalTech, we asked George May, vice president of West Solutions, to explain it for you:

International experience for Elite

Thomson Elite has a large presence at LegalTech, with booths highlighting its popular products and software applications.

We did a video interview with the newest member of the Elite executive team, Kim Massana, recently named senior vice president, Strategic Marketing & International.

Massana, who most recently was working in London for another Thomson business, is experiencing his first LegalTech:

Thomson FindLaw is at LegalTech

Thomson FindLaw is among the Thomson companies at LegalTech. Chris Kibarian, FindLaw’s president and general manager, told us why the show is important for his business:

Elite’s Steve Buege and 3E

We caught up with Steve Buege, president and CEO of Thomson Elite, at LegalTech New York and asked him about the Elite 3E platform for financial and practice management:

Monica Bay offers LegalTech advice

Monica Bay, editor-in-chief of Law Technology News, is everywhere at LegalTech. So, it’s fitting that we went to her for advice on how legal professionals can navigate the exhibit hall, and make the most out of their time at this popular trade show.

Tour of the Thomson booths

We had some fun putting together this video tour of the Thomson booths at LegalTech New York 2008:

You can watch the entire Thomson Safari Guy video here as well as three alternate endings for it.

We also have posted some of our photos from LegalTech on our Flickr page.

Thomson Elite wins LTN Award

Thomson Elite won a 2007 Law Technology News Award Tuesday night at LegalTech in New York City.

Elite Billing Manager was selected by LTN readers in the category of Time and Billing System for Large Firms (100+ Attorneys).

We got reaction from Dan Tacone, senior vice president, Thomson Elite in this video interview:

Setup at Thomson West booth

LegalTech New York is underway and it’s shaping up to be a busy day.

We caught the last-minute setup at the Thomson West booth yesterday. Once we got through the check-in (and got our official Thomson West jungle-themed lanyard) we saw just a few boxes still needing to get unpacked in order to put some of the finishing touches on the various Thomson booths.

To learn more about the Thomson preparations and setup we went right to West’s trade show guru, Kathy Granger, for this quick video interview:

We’ll show you what Kathy means by a “screaming monkey” when we give you a video tour of the Thomson booth.
