On Saturday, Oct. 25, Thomson Reuters Legal hosted two local nonprofit organizations, Cheerful Givers and Kids ‘n Kinship, at our Eagan, Minn. campus for national Make a Difference Day.
Volunteers pitched in to make a real difference in the lives of less fortunate children in the Twin Cities’ community by taking part in a Birthday Bag Blitz – Kids Helping Kids.
The volunteers assembled 1,000 toy-filled gift bags to be distributed to shelters and food shelves so that parents living in poverty can give their child a birthday gift.
“The event was a great success,” said Karen Kitchel, president of Cheerful Givers. “The volunteers brought national Make a Difference Day to life to help less fortunate families celebrate birthdays with their children.”
In addition to participating in this meaningful and fun hands-on experience, volunteers also got to meet Miss Minnesota USA, Kaylee Unverzagt.
